As an Industry Leader and Top Income Earner, not only in the company AVANT, but in the home based industry as a whole, I am constantly asked – what’s my Formula For Success??  Just this past week an associate and business partner asked me this again but in tears of frustration…. I thought about it and stopped myself dead in the middle of my normal leadership diatribe and realized that she and most people are not listening. They are not hearing what they are actually looking for….

In this conversation as I stopped myself I began to listen to what thoughts this individual was focusing on. Truly not trying to overcome her fears or her concerns but just listening to what she was focused on. In that listening I found the challenge that must first be overcome for ANY business, Home Based or otherwise, to work.  That is a belief above all else that you trust yourself enough to KNOW that you will find a way to accomplish anything, from marketing to building that customer relationship, no matter what challenges arise. I listened further and came to the realization that my purpose with these people all along, the actual purpose that caused leaders to rise to the occasion and make things happen, was my unwavering belief in their ability to have belief in themselves…

Once they clearly got that aspect, they became independently empowered. Suddenly they had the mindset and self created determination to make things happen no matter what the challenge was. What caused it in this conversation you may be wondering??? This person first asked questions as to why it was so easy for me to create $18,000 one week in income and then $35,000 in another???? So my initial defense was, well first I do #1 and then I do #2 and so on…. I realized mechanically they were doing exactly what I was doing but not getting a result. Literally they were doing EXACTLY what I was and not receiving even one penny in income. Same Ads, same $$$ spent on advertising….. What was it that could allow me to do so well and this person to get ZERO ZILCH NADA???? Worse, why are some getting it and some not???

So I sat down last night with a pad and pen and went back to my batteries of notes and journals and again history revealed a pattern. Not just about Vibration and the Law of Attraction but of something more, something deeper. The people that came to me with a shred of belief in themselves orchestrated their interface with me differently. They were not full of BS in what they were going to do. They shared their goals and beliefs and were real not lying to themselves. That allowed us to begin on a vibrational basis to communicate beliefs clearly. That “Open-Heartedness” did something else. It allowed me to reach out to them with my beliefs in them. They had someone on their side… They had attracted a leader, a mentor into their world who, because they were honest with themselves and myself, would give unwavering belief in their own vision of themselves. They were then Super-Empowered.

That empowerment spilled into HOW they were communicating with everyone around them. So what did that cause?? It caused those people who were in this focus and level of self-truthfulness to begin to have unwavering confidence in the decisions they made. They became ON PURPOSE. Not in a way of pushing or bullying or selling people into something. They become a warm strength that people wanted to work with and listen to. In that, they began to become a leader. These people became so on purpose that they began to duplicate my results almost instantly while others struggled……

So today I am beyond grateful for my journey, and not just for this shocking revelation, but for the fact that the history of my successes for the past 6 1/2 years had some deeper larger lesson and meaning. If I have a vision and belief in the people I assist, and they are truthful with their beliefs when we meet up initially, I can and will create a path where people will become leaders and will achieve their dreams.

Here is something most people do not consider; are your reacting or are you responding? One requires no thoughts, no on purpose selection of behavior, the other requires you to think. You must think about your behavior. You must make a choice as to how you allow whatever it is that is occurring to effect you. Why, because it is this constant course of behavior that will determine your attitude all day long. When in reaction mode your emotions run the show which can be very very chaotic. When in response you allow your thoughts to participate in the outcome of a situation. When your thoughts are involved you can make choices to change the direction of the situation. When only your emotions are involved – like attracts like – so if you fly on emotion it tends to increase or become more and more of what you are reacting to. Remember, emotionally you are transmitting a vibration, that vibration will attract more and more of the same vibration – Good or Bad.

SITUATION : Lets set the table for this. Say the situation at hand is that you are driving down the road in your car. Someone comes up from behind you and begins tailgating you and you are on a fairly narrow, curvy road. Upon first notice you feel your vibration of aggravation creeping up on you. You begin to feel a twinge of anger. Your emotions begin to take hold….. This situation continues to expand as this individual continues to creep closer and closer to the back of your car. A few more moments pass by and then this individual moves his or her car around you and in the process passes you (Because you are beginning to react in anger you accelerate to make his action of passing that much more challenging). In doing so they cut so close to the front corner of your car that you must hit the brakes and swerve to avoid the two cars colliding.

REACTION : So now as your temper flares, you decide (And it is a decision) to pursue this lunatic. You are going to “show them” or give them piece of your mind. You begin to race after them. Letting go all sense of reality in driving angry and without caution. You chase the individual down and as your temper continues to flare, you engauge in the next non-productive reaction. A Confrontation. In this confrontation you end up in a physical or at the very least a mental and verbal battle that proceeds to waste even more of your time……. I need not go further as this situation could get worse and worse but you get the picture. Your reaction in anger takes you on a non productive path and even more unsettling time wasting chaos.  As a result of all of this you end up 10 minutes late to an appointment. Then the person you are meeting with becomes annoyed at you for your vibration is of stress and anger. The purpose of the meeting goes unfulfilled for they don’t even wish to be around you…. See where I am going here?

RESPOND : Now lets assume the same thing happens to you and instead of reacting you decide to slow down and allow that tailgater to pass you buy. A few miles up the road you end up next to the tailgater and a light and you come to find that this person has a pregnant passenger in the the car with him – about to give birth. The person is not angry or hostile – remember your anger caused their anger in the REACTION….. This person is scared to death. You immediately render assistance and call for help. At the same time you call ahead to your appointment and let them know you will be late and why. As you describe with compassion what is going on and what you are doing your appointment feels that vibration and also begins to feel that compassion. Their vibration matches yours. Ultimately when you do meet up with your appointment you have a phenomenal meeting and accomplish exactly what you set out to do.

Now both these situations have a similar start and a dramatically different outcome. All because you chose to RESPOND instead of REACT.  In studying human behavior, I have found this process of responding over – overreacting to be one of the largest leaps people can make in creating the life they really desire. It is an absolute Success Principle. The person that thinks and responds is in control of their future and the person that reacts has no control over anything.

Imagine if you slowed down and viewed every situation you encounter with the compassion and thought of more possibilities than just your emotional response….. Think about how many situations throughout your life that could have had a DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT outcome if you chose to approach things from a different angle. Always remember the “Law of Attraction”, like it or not, it is always at work. The moment you make this choice to live life more on purpose and with thought and focus on what you do want instead of an emotional reaction in trying to change what is going on is the moment life becomes AWESOME. It becomes awesome for you have become on purpose and no longer are your pure emotions recreating what you don’t want.

Remember that the “Law of Attraction” will recreate and re-attract exactly what your EMOTIONS and THOUGHTS are focused upon. So today in as many situations as you can, make a choice. Make a choice to RESPOND and not REACT and I believe you will see some tremendous changes in life turning out just the way you wanted it to in the first place. Make sure you use your emotional charges for the great things around you and for the right things with the people you love and watch what happens.

Elevate

Do all of you clearly understand the importance of GOALS? Do you understand why it is the backbone of success for almost anything we wish to do not only in a Home Based Business, but in life? You see, most people live life like it is a Random Circumstance. These people live life in a way where their environment creates situations that they are reacting to every day. There is no order, no direction, no sense of purpose, ad thus they end up just living life from situation to situation.

Goals begin to pull your life’s activities into an On Purpose direction. The more on purpose the your life is the more you not only accomplish but the more it becomes exactly what you want instead of merely just a reaction to circumstances. Think about the minor things you may already be applying “goals” to. Take for instance a grocery list. When you go to the grocery store with a list you get everything on it and have a specific set of needs covered. Taking that one step further, this will in turn plan your meals at home for the next few days. Which will in turn direct the specific time for preparation. So that list of goals, no matter how trivial, has a very orderly on purpose effect.

Now lets take a step back and look at your work or business. If you have a very detailed and specific set of defined goals, and a job or business that is the vehicle for getting there, think for a moment……. if you knew the activities you were performing on a daily basis had the PURPOSE of getting you exactly where you designed you wanted to be…… How productive could you be? How much better a job would you do? Wouldn’t you take things far more seriously if you knew precisley where you were heading? Then wouldn’t you channel all of your physical and mental energy in the direction of your work and goals so you get there?? The rewards when you have that much motivation and focus are HUGE!

So today, sit back and think about things. Do you have clear goals? Do you have a vehicle to achieve them, a business or a job? Really think about it and remember, as you begin to plant yourself into a defined plan, activities, thoughts, actions and passion begin to flow into your life. So set some goals now. Road map things for the next 3 months, then 6, months, then 1 year, then 3 years, and create a long term plan so your life has a very defined purpose.

GOAL SETTING

I encourage you to pick up a pen and a piece of paper and jot down the goals you want to reach. Look at each goal and evaluate it. Make any changes necessary to ensure it meets the criteria for SMART goals:

• S = Specific
• M = Measurable
• A = Attainable
• R = Realistic
• T = Timely

Specific

Goals should be straightforward and emphasize what you want to happen. Specifics help us to focus our efforts and clearly define what we are going to do.

Specific is the What, Why, and How of the SMART model.

• WHAT are you going to do? Use action words such as direct, organize, coordinate, lead, develop, plan, build etc.
• WHY is this important to do at this time? What do you want to ultimately accomplish?
• HOW are you going to do it? (By…)

Ensure the goals you set is very specific, clear and easy. Instead of setting a goal to lose weight or be healthier, set a specific goal to lose 2 in. off your waistline or to walk 5 miles at an aerobically challenging pace.

Measurable

If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. In the broadest sense, the whole goal statement is a measure for the project; if the goal is accomplished, the is a success. However, there are usually several short-term or small measurements that can be built into the goal.

Choose a goal with measurable progress, so you can see the change occur. How will you see when you reach your goal? Be specific! “I want to read 3 novels of 300 pages before the end of the year” shows the specific target to be measured. “I want to be a good reader” is not as measurable.

Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs you on to continued effort required to reach your goals.

Attainable

When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop that attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them. You begin seeing previously overlooked opportunities to bring yourself closer to the achievement of your goals.

Goals you set which are too far out of your reach, you probably won’t commit to doing. Although you may start with the best of intentions, the knowledge that it’s too much for you means your subconscious will keep reminding you of this fact and will stop you from even giving it your best.

A goal needs to stretch you slightly so you feel you can do it and it will need a real commitment from you. For instance, if you aim to lose 20lbs in one week, we all know that isn’t achievable. But setting a goal to loose 1lb and when you’ve achieved that, aiming to lose a further 1lb, will keep it achievable for you.

The feeling of success which this brings helps you to remain motivated.

Realistic

This is not a synonym for “easy.” Realistic, in this case, means “do-able.” It means that the learning curve is not a vertical slope; that the skills needed to do the work are available; that the project fits with the overall strategy and goals of the organization. A realistic project may push the skills and knowledge of the people working on it but it shouldn’t break them.

Devise a plan or a way of getting there which makes the goal realistic. The goal needs to be realistic for you and where you are at the moment. A goal of never again eating sweets, cakes, cookies and chocolate may not be realistic for someone who really enjoys these foods.

For instance, it may be more realistic to set a goal of eating a piece of fruit each day instead of one sweet item. You can then choose to work towards reducing the amount of sweet products gradually as this feels realistic for you.

Be sure to set goals that you can attain with some effort! Too difficult and you set the stage for failure, but too low sends the message that you aren’t very capable. Set the bar high enough for a satisfying achievement!

Timely

Set a timeframe for the goal: for next week, in three months, by next year. Putting an end point on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.

If you don’t set a time, the commitment is too vague. It tends not to happen because you feel you can start at any time. Without a time limit, there’s no urgency to start taking action now.

Time must be measurable, attainable and realistic.

Everyone will benefit from goals and objectives if they are SMART. SMART, is the instrument to apply in setting your goals and objectives.

After you set these goals today understand that this is one technique I use to assist people in building the motivation they require to create an incredible business from home. Entrepreneur – Are You One? Now that’s an interesting question. Even today after nearly 20 years being one, I often ask myself that question. Why ? Some of you reading this may think – why would an Entrepreneur ask himself such a question if he already is? Well the answer to that in my mind is one of checking one’s own path, one’s own commitment to his or her dreams and goals, and most importantly;  are they creating something for the benefit of others so that not only do they personally grow but so that all of the people that do business with them also receives an experience whereby they come away with more than they originally engaged me for.

Entrepreneurs, which I do believe I am, are creators and trail blazers. They must create a product or a service which brings something different to the world or marketplace they are in. When they do, they then and only then, do they have a perceived value. Years ago in manufacturing I created a niche in business of constructing product based upon a designers idea’s. The value that I added was one where I took the vision of what that designer created and then made it into something that could be produced and used in everyday sportswear while knowing that the general public wants something that looks amazing (just like the designer designed it) but was bullet proof. Meaning it had to look Magnificent while being constantly abused and mishandled.

I was in Textile Fabric and Garment Manufacturing. I had learned great technical knowledge as a factory worker as a teenager and placed all that knowledge behind the simple fact that an Artist would design stuff often as fragile as an egg shell that would have to be interpreted and then recreated for the real world.

So what does that have with being an Entrepreneur or where does that play into questioning oneself about being or becoming one. Well here is the connection…. You see everyday as an Entrepreneur you will be faced with idea’s, concepts, challenges, and people. In those face offs, if you come to the table with the Positive “Never Giving Up” attitude you can take those marvelous egg shells and create a niche in every single engagement.

As a Home Business Coach and Entrepreneur, this is what I absolutely teach people to do. I find myself in such an interesting position these days. I am in a incredible leadership position at a Hybrid MLM Direct Sales Company Avant ™.  Hybrid meaning we are not just a direct sales company with retail profits but we are also a company that has many layers of residual income. I enjoy both sides of our compensation plan, every day I am able to generate profits upfront in retail and every week I also get to enjoy residual income from a rapidly growing organization. Over the past few days I had an interesting experience and it inspired me to share with all those looking at this blog. It was a vibrational display of the magnificence and harmony of life when desires and goals are in flow with what is actually going on. So as you all begin to look into the home based business industry and you hear results from products and particularly income claims listen not so much to the words but to the vibrations. If the vibrations sound like a symphony of sound that immediately gets through – well there you have a leader blazing a path you can follow. If it sounds like a band out of tune – well there you also have it it is a liar. This is what I advised all of those challenging people.

So crucial is it that you identify this, for if you do you will connect with a life changing product as well as an income you never dreamed possible. Six and a half years ago I found a company that did this for me. Then there was a time where that magic disappeared as the company changed and ownership changed. The Music left that Band. Today I am fortunate enough to have been reunited with that magic and the symphony that occurs in everything this company does. It is why it is one of the fastest growing companies in the direct sales industry. Clearly it has the ability to totally change lives and while doing that remove all limitations on what one person is capable of. I believe it will be one of the few companies in history to have many multiple 7 figure income earners.

So as you read this remember if you begin to recognize the vibrations sent and felt, you will know for sure whether it is Lies or Leadership. When I think about visualization, I think of it as a tool.   Often people do not realize just how incredibly powerful they are and how their visualizations,  GOOD or BAD, actually pave a way for that mental picture to become a reality.  We, as human beings, are creative creators.

Think about it from an architect’s perspective.  He or she dreams of a building or home - visualizes it.  He then begins to sketch out the design. Then takes his or her idea to whomever they were providing this service for, and based on clarity and enthusiasm he or she then begins to enroll that person, or group of people, in their vision.  Once this vision is accepted, the clients then begin to push the resources into his flow of vision and before too long a building or home is  built.

So how does this relate to you and I?  It’s actually quite simple.  As we begin to think and dream, mental pictures are created.  The clearer and more defined the mental picture the more passion we will begin to develop in that direction. When we begin to get really passionate, we begin to share those dreams and visualizations; we begin to enroll people all around us in the possibility of that vision becoming true.

There is evidence all around us of this. The telephone on your desk at one point was a vision in Alexander Graham Bell’s mind.  The home you live in was a thought – a Vision – in someones mind.  The car you drive also started as a vision.  We, as human beings were created with this ability.  It works on small and large scales.

Good Morning to all those visiting and reading these micro lessons on personal development. Today I have a special share for as I build Home Based Businesses with others for a living , I can’t help but notice and focus on some interesting things as I become aware of them.

I became aware yesterday of how important it is to not get hung up on the ignorant comments of others. Sometimes people that are influential in your business or on your path allow their Ego to broadcast messages that ultimately, if you allow them to, create resistance. It is through awareness of the behavioural patterns of those individuals that they lose the power to have any effect on you. In fact, as you become aware, you can isolate their comments in your life as nonsence. When you accomplish this they cannot create resistance but actually begin to serve you in the elevation of your awareness and presence to the here and now.

So if you have someone who is a person whom you felt as important to your life  on on your path of growth, take only what serves you from their commentary or guidance. It is your focus of energy and thought that gives their guidance meaning. You get to choose the impact they have on your life.

So choose wisely on the focus of what people are saying around you as this is the first step in taking responsibility to a level where YOU have control and THEY DO NOT. Focus on the good that these individuals bring into your life not the crap that they ignorantly bring to the table. There is greatness in many of my mentors yet sometimes they choose to play EGO and then, well when ego controls the situation they bring crap. So choose not to focus on crap and then for sure you will notice resistance to what you are truely after falling by the wayside.
